Dan Fornari is a marine geologist and senior scientist in the Geology & Geophysics Department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He is probably best known for his research on volcanic and hydrothermal processes and mapping at mid-ocean ridges, and also studies of the structure and magmatic processes at oceanic transforms and oceanic islands such as Hawaii and the Galápagos. He's participated in over 70 research cruises in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and has completed over 100 dives in Alvin and other Navy submersibles.

The Sturgis Library, a historic public library in the village of Barnstable, is dedicated to providing services and resources to meet the needs of a contemporary community while preserving and promoting Cape Cod history. The library:
• Supports the lifelong pursuit of personal, vocational, cultural, and intellectual enrichment.
• Fosters literacy, curiosity, and creativity in library users of all ages.
• Promotes the free exchange of ideas and serves as a community meeting place.
• Offers a gateway to emerging technologies and informational databases which enhance traditional resources.
• Serves as a regional archive and research center for the study of Barnstable County, history, genealogy, and maritime culture.

Amy grew up in Falmouth and is the granddaughter of two Paul Harris Fellows, and past presidents of the Falmouth and Randolph Rotary Clubs. Amy's passion to improve the lives of children and families developed in high school when the Falmouth Rotary Club was able to help financially sponsor me to travel to Oaxaca Mexico to take part in a language immersion program. 

 

Since then Amy has taken part in health and education service learning programs in Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Singapore. 

 

Amy lived in Benin and Ghana for a year as well producing malaria nets and working with terminally ill children in hospital settings.  Amy holds a Masters in Expressive Arts Therapies with a specialization in Music Therapy from Lesley University and a B. A. in Child Life and a concentration of Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. 

 

Amy is the founder of Tones in Motion a local Cape music therapy business that provides music therapy for ages 0-100 in hospitals, rehabs, addiction communities, memory care programs, special education programs and in schools. Amy is currently working on implementing the Good Grief Project of Cape Cod.

Jane Frost former LPGA player and operator of the Golf Academy

 

Jane is Owner and Founder of the Jane Frost Golf Performance Center at Sandwich Hollows Golf Club in East Sandwich, MA. The 1994 LPGA Teacher of the Year and 1996 New England PGA Teacher of the Year, Jane’s leadership and contributions to the game over the past three-and-half decades have been many. She established the first LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Club on Cape Cod, as well as a WGAM (Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts) Girls Scholarship Fund to benefit junior golfers in the state. She also served as the President for the Northeast Section of the LPGA T&CP and currently sits on the T&CP’s Education Committee and is a member of the LPGA T&CP World Education Team.

An alumnus of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers list, Jane was on Golf Digest’s inaugural list of America’s 50 Best Teachers and currently sits 13th on the magazine’s rankings of America’s 50 Best Women Teachers. In addition to her many coaching accolades, she has received numerous teaching certifications, including AimPoint (MidPoint and Express Green Reading), TPI Level 3 GP and Level 2 Coaching, K-Vest Level 2, SAM PuttLab, and U.S. Kids Golf.

An accomplished player, Jane made a dozen appearances on the LPGA Tour and played a full season on the Futures Tour, falling just two shots short of earning her LPGA Tour card. Current students of Jane’s include multiple LPGA Tour major champions Pat Bradley and Sandra Haynie.
