At the end of June, the Rotary Club of Hyannis installed a new slate of officers, including President Jitka Borowick of Barnstable, for the upcoming year. 
Borowick, the founder and CEO of Cleangreen, succeeds Immediate Past President James Tvrdik of West Yarmouth, owner of Jim’s Hang Ups. The club’s new leadership was welcomed      during a ceremony at the Hyannis Golf Club on June 28.
 
“I am honored and humbled to be selected by my peers to lead an organization whose values of service above self is what initially drew me to the Rotary in 2012,” Borowick said. “I look forward to building upon the great work of our club so that we can serve as an inspiration at the local, regional, national and international levels.”
 
During the ceremony, Borowick highlighted her goals for the upcoming year which include growing membership, increasing the number of women members, and conducting an international project that combines her interests with those of the club.
 
Most recently, she served as President-Elect, chairing this year’s Home Garden & Lifestyle Show, helping to add a lifestyle component to the annual event for the first time ever.
 
Over the past year, Tvrdik was able to grow the club to its current 85 members, expand its Facebook presence, and increase the visibility of its involvement in the community. “From our youth scholarships to our grant giving to organizations making a difference on Cape Cod, the Hyannis Rotary does so much behind the scenes so our community can remain a special place for all,” said Tvrdik. “It has been a privilege to play a leadership role in our ever-important work to ensure that the Rotary maintains its commitment to service, both on Cape Cod and beyond.”
 
Rotary Assistant District Governor Billy Roberts installed Borowick as the Hyannis club’s newest president.
 
Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce CEO Wendy Northcross, a member of the Hyannis rotary, installed the other officers which include: President-Elect Harold L. Robinson; Vice President Michael White, owner of Cape Computer Advisors and a developer at Cape Cod Healthcare; Secretary Cy Nelson; Assistant Secretary Terry Moore; Treasurer Dennis Miller; Assistant Treasurer Erica Clark, Vice President at Eastern Bank; Sergeant at Arms Paul Gandillot; and Assistant Sergeant at Arms Dave Sircom .
 
During the evening, several club members were given Paul Harris Fellow awards which is “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.” Those receiving Paul Harris Fellows were John Reed of Barnstable; Jitka Borowick; Michael White; Erica Clark and Fred Anderson.
