CHANGING LIVES

The Rotary Club of Hyannis was founded in 1925. Hyannis historians will recognize that the list of charter members reads like a “who’s who” of the time, with names like Hinckley, Chase, Eldredge, Nickerson and Tobey.

As then, our members today are dedicated to the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” We participate in a broad range of local and international service activities designed to promote community and improve the lives of others. Many of these activities are suggested by our members while others are brought to us by the community.

Our members are people like you. People who unite and take action to create lasting change — in our communities, in ourselves and across the globe.  Our current strategic focus is on “Enriching the Lives of our Youth”, and “Helping our Neighbors in Need”.

Since our beginning, the Hyannis Rotary has given over $4 million to local nonprofits and community service projects including Rotary Rewards Readers and Meals on Wheels.  Hyannis Rotarians raise money for its Good Works Fund through donations, and our signature community event, the Annual Home, Garden & Lifestyle Show, held during the spring of each year.

We also award scholarships and tool ships to local students.

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change—across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 120 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
